1. Students of members will never be exploited.
2. Members will be objective in suggesting teachers in the community.
3. When serving as an interim teacher, the instruction of the regular teacher shall not be undermined.
4. Teachers will refrain from discussing the work of another teacher in such a way as to injure the professional reputation of that teacher.
5. A teacher will not claim credit for the achievement of a transfer student who has studied with him/her less than six months. Teachers should acknowledge the contributions of a student’s former teacher during that time.
6. Teachers will rely solely on their professional qualities to attract students and will avoid using their positions in the community, churches, or schools as pressure on students to study with them.
7. Teachers will be honest in advertising their qualifications.
8. Except in rare circumstances, teachers will adhere to the schedule and fee agreed upon in advance with each student. It is assumed the teacher’s full attention will be given to the student during his/her stated lesson time.
9. Teachers should be forthright with parents concerning each student’s progress.
It is expected that each teacher will be personally responsible for upholding these standards.
